Does anyone know if the tower from an 2018 212x will fit onto a 2017 ar240?

No one has posted here that they have tried such a project. From looking at the 2 different designs I would say anything is possible but difficult. Each tower has a different base mount, so thats where the problems could arise.
I am not sure if the down slope of a 21 foot and a 24 foot are the same angle and dimensions to start with.
You would need access to both boats to take measurements to be sure

The one im looking at seems to be the same dimensions. There are three mounting bolts on the bottom of the 212x tower. My boat is covered and stored for winter so I cant get in it to see how it mounts. The 212x tower looks identical to the 240 limited tower im just not sure how the ar240 mounts

Keep in mind the 242 limited and ar240 are completely different towers and bases

Yep thats one reason i would swap. The better locking and tilt mechanisms

I checked on doing something similar taking the 17 212x tower to my 2015 212x... my dealer said it would work but Yamaha didn’t recommend it because of how they strengthen that area to support each tower for each boat. I am sure that’s easy enough to overcome with planning and using something else to spread the load... ultimate deciding factor for me
Was cost of a new tower and cost of fiberglass work since my tower is completely different...
