WakeWedge & Thrust Vector XLs

I've been reading about the WakeWedge and I've got a question about the incompatibility with Thrust Vectors. I understand that the inboard fin on the same side that the WakeWedge is installed can potentially contact the WakeWedge's turnbuckle when in the up position, causing steering interference or even binding completely. I haven't seen this in person of course, so my question is whether or not that inboard fin could be trimmed or modified to avoid this? I'll be installing the lateral thrusters from JBP as I've already received them, which means switching to Cobra AK fins is not an option. So basically, I want thrust vectors, lateral thrusters, AND the wake wedge. How can I make this work?

Scottie you would have to massively modify the thrust vector or make a smaller bracket for the Wake Wedge. I can help with the angle brackets if you/we wanted to experiment with some shorter ones to try to allow for a tighter fit to the wake wedge? Keep in mind that our disclaimer is still active and if you choose to put both systems on for testing you are testing at your own risk.

Understood. I guess my biggest question was how much of a modification it would take, which you've more or less answered. I'd certainly like to get to spot where it would work so if we could work together on that I'm all for it. The lateral thrusters from JBP seem to be very popular, and many of those boats will have the thrust vectors as well, so there will be more cases where just swapping to the cobra fins to run the wake wedge won't be ideal. I haven't purchased my WakeWedge yet, but I plan to very soon. Are you doing a group buy this year like I've seen in the past?

Perhaps you may want to consider the cobra fins since they are the ones that work at all speeds not just no wake mode since you need extra steering to control your boat while you are using the wake wedge or participating in any water sport and if you add in the mega fangs you get everything you want and more, so as I say do your homework and buy your last steering system first well almost first since you already have the xl system,, but my system and mega fangs is considerably less expensive and does so much more, ask around. with the added resistance produced by the wake wedge you will need all the steering you can get. But again just ask people who use the cobra system and you may even ask Jeff about a discount I know him personally LOL,

The Wake Wedge doesn't add any steering resistance, the ballast in the boat does.

ok the resistance is the issue sorry I just concluded that making a large wake by redirecting water in that volume would increase resistance if it does not then I stand corrected thank you.

No problem, just didn't want a new person to the board thinking the WW put strain on the steering system. We typically leave the WW on all day long and at plane the WW doesn't even touch the water or jet spray so you wouldn't even know it was back there. The difference between ours and a convergence system is ours sits on top of the jets and the convergence sits on the side which would be counterproductive to the steering which is where your system would benefit the tracking of the boat better.

I totally understand how it feels to have people told things that are totally incorrect TRUST ME ON THAT and I am glad you responded to this, all that being said I was making the point that my steering systems providing extra steering is a big asset when participating in water sports of any type.
