Well the title said about everything, when I going to reverse anything above an idol I got water through that plug at the front of my engine compartment. The water doesn’t come into the engine compartment it comes into the cockpit where my feet are. Does this happen to anyone else???

Most de finitely sounds like the scupper valve missing or stuck open.
At least you know your scupper is working! Self bailing of Yamaha decks is an awesome feature.

That is true on the newer boats...not so much on my 07 AR230 where the deck water flows forward unless I put 300#+ of water ballast on the swim deck.

Definitely agree it’s the scupper. Try spraying fresh water through the deck fitting under the leaning post. Mine was doing that in reverse, turns out a small amount of debris will hold that flap open and let water in. Just a small clump of grass or a twig will be enough to soak your feet.

Also bear in mind that the ski locker hatch drain connects to that same tube in the engine compartment. Could be water in there backing up too.

We are down here in FL and that happens once in a while, I park under trees and leaves will get stuck in the scrubber. I just force water through it and poof we are good to go. Now if I can just find the leak maybe my bilge will stop going off every 25 min.

Thanks guys I’ll look when I get back down to the boat.
The ski locker is dry. My whole boat is pretty dry I’m happy with it.
I did add weather stripping to the top edge of the compartments to seal them.
