Just a curious question, I know when I had my 212ss I was told if one of the engines quit I couldn't go over certain speed or I would flood the down engine, has anyone had any problems with water in engine with trolling motors? I know you don't go that fast with a trolling motor but was curious as I am in the process of installing one on mine. Do you keep engine running at idle or just leave it off?

The Owner's manual states not to be towed above 5 mph or risk engine damage, so as long as you don't troll at those speed you should be fine.

If you have some hot rod trolling motor and wanted to be the safest you could install a shutoff valve on the water line for use when trolling which would be good to have anyways in case you ever needed to be towed.

Just don't forget to open the valve again when you hop from one spot to the next!

I've never thought about a shut of valve for the water line. What/where is the water line that needs to be shut off? And does this allow you to be towed at a higher speed?

Thank you.

using a trolling motor won't cause any issues, you need to create enough force through the pump to force water into the water box and fill it enough for the water to get back to the engine, I run a trolling motor on my fx ho cruiser ski with no issues ever and I can get that thing moving pretty quickly.
