So I ordered new wear rings for my 03 sr230. For housing 003-508. Googled replacement plastic wear ring for 003-508 and got sent a 003-522. More research shows that this should be right. If I slide the wear ring over the impellar there is excessive play. Do the plastic liners compress when installed in the housing? I dont want to remove the old one without knowing for sure.

Also, I'm not home at the moment, but is there a specific orientation for installation? How do I figure out which side goes in the housing?

Been googling all day with no help.

Thanks in advance if you can help.
