Two weeks ago I took the family out on the boat with 10 passengers and some of them are large. So my question is how people distribute the weight. I had to run a extra 1000-1500 rpms to do the speed I would normally run. If I ran any slower than 28 the boat would start to sink down. I will tell you i had a good 600 lbs on the bow. Just curious because if i pull a tube or skier with this many people in the boat I'm gonna be hauling a$$.

After dealing with that a few times I installed trim tabs to help avoid getting stink eye.

Now everybody can pretty much stay put. I keep my mouth shut and everybody is happy.

Sounded like a good day to go wake surfing!

lol. Yeah, I have thought a little about adding trim tabs that might incorporate some type of auto leveling into effect. I get people moving around the boat while under way and have to compensate with steering (too many people on one side and I have to pull to the right). tabs would completely resolve that if they could take into account what should be level.

Would it plain out better with the weight in the rear. In the no wake zone I thought my motors were gonna come out the water

Weight in the bow should help with planing. Trim tabs allow me to level the boat left to right and to plane earlier and stay on plane longer?

What do you estimate the total weight as?

LOL,, I have had the same issue,, how do you ask the heavies to get in the back of the boat? LOL....

Cargo and people I'd say 2200. Didn't slow me down on anything 9000 rpms or more but if I did and thing less than 8000 it would sink down

I usually have all the women get in the bow and all the men stay back.... I feel like the bigger bodies should be behind the helm....

Just be very carful when the women are bigger and you ask them to move to the back while talking about weight distribution.... Could turn into a bad day...

I put the larger people in the rear today and didn't notice the weight. Ruffest water I've ever been in. Waves taller than my boat. It took 1.5 hrs to go 16 miles

Only invite the skinny friends. Lol. The only thing I do is balance the left and right. I am having 11.5 people on the boat on the fourth and I just balance the left and right. As a joke, I will ask my niece to go around to everyone and ask how much they weigh!

How strict is the weight limitations for the 242 LS?

This thread has me thinking and reminds me of that WWII movie where they are throwing guns, ammo and anything unneeded. In my case, I will ditch the water skis, 2 of 3 anchors, and anything else that is not needed.

I tell people to move around and balance the load and everyone is cool about it. If they're not they wouldn't be invited back. My boat my rules. Period.
