We were out on the water today, enjoying the weirdly warm 90 degree weather. As usual, chop picked up in the afternoon, but never fear, my newly installed trim tabs and SLC controller were at the ready to help us power through with less slapping.
In the midst of some of the worst chop, I needed to deploy more trim and pressed both Bow Down buttons when the controller just went dark. No control, no lights, nothing. Fortunately, the tabs were more or less where I wanted them and I happily continued our cruise up to the marina to refuel.
At this point, I'm figuring that the 15A fuse I used was probably blown and that the actuators were just stressed a little more than usual during additional deployment due to the chop. To my shock, the fuse was totally fine. I pulled it from the fuse box, reinserted it, and the controller came back online and had no issues at all on the 30 minute ride back to our house.
Has anyone else had an issue like this with Lectrotab controllers?
