So yeap, sucked a rope on my starboard engine....noticed very quick. Stopped the engine and went to the marina very, very slowly. So obviously the protective sleeve is a joke and in reality does more damage than help. On my previous SeaDoo boat, I was able to remove the rope from the shaft (in land) and go back into the water....this time it wedged in between the shaft and the sleeve, and had to remove the pump to remove the rope. So not a lake job!

But now I need to know what part is that I need to order....it looks like a rubber bushing that goes on the impeller an into the sleeve? Is it a BRP part or a Scarab part? Im I stocked ordering through the dealership or can I get it anywhere else on the internet?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Vic

would part #200 fit the Scarab application? #0460151

@Speedling , no but is the engine shook badly, he may need to take the boat in for a checkup. They do make that rubber boot in metal. May be a good time to upgrade.

I sucked up a LOT of thin/ski rope in my 2000 SeaDoo Speedster once (no shaft shield) and though it took an hour+ (and many deep breaths) I was able to pull/cut it free on the water.

Wonder if these shields have any benefit. . . . .maybe for other debris?

@ScarabMike Got a link to these online? Looks like this boot in metal + shaft would be great, if I am picturing it all right.

So, it's a standard boot? Nothing special from Scarab to fit that sleeve?

That's exactly what I thought, I've done my challenger in the ramp! And back to the water...not with this sleeve though

And that will fit in the sleeve?

Is this the standard boot?

Here is another one. This one look low profile.
http://www.performancewatercraft.co...ller-nose-cone-rxp-x-rxt-x-gtx-rxp-rxt-1.html

The R&D RXT-X Super Impeller Nose Cone was developed to replace the O.E.M. rubber impeller cone known to break, tear, or come unscrewed causing low speed impeller cavitation and top speed losses, with a shorter, stronger, higher performing design. Replace the O.E.M. rubber cone, or the long Solas cone with a shorter, stronger, higher performing billet aluminum design. The R&D Super Impeller Cone will promote overall impeller/pump performance and reliability.

Yes, there are these 2 options.

Lol....I was just saying there are 2 different boots....one tapered and one straight. Which one?

Plus I like the metal one you posted but was curious why it wouldnt contact the sleeve if it's metal with metal?

Don't get the boot with the white ring, it's a different shaft diameter and won't allow the pump to be installed. Don't ask how I know that.
