Wet Slip brackish

Hey everyone, new this year to jet boats. So when we bought our 2020 AR240, which we love by the way, we were told the boat couldn’t be kept in a wet slip. We live on the Chesapeake Bay so the water is brackish. Many people are telling me they use a wet slip with no issue. Can I get some advice? Thanks in advance.

We have our 2019 AR210 in a wet slip however after 3 weeks of being in the water, the grime was unbearable. It took us 5 hours scrubbing to get the bottom back to white. We then purchased a boat lift so it doesn't sit in the water. I see many yammies in slips at our marina.

Did they give you any explanation as to why ?

some of our members do wet slip for months at a time,

Personally I wouldn't because
1. you always risk the battery going dead and bilge not working or some other below water line leak
2. you'll probably add at least 5-10 hours of your summer to cleaning the hull, if you don't you'll have a disgusting looking boat and loose some speed.

I'd invest in some sort of lift or jetski type ride on dock,

We wetslip but we also go to other bodies of water on occasion so I clean it up while it's out. Last week I pulled it out and cleaned and waxed the hull with a good paste wax. It's going back in the water tomorrow and will probably stay in the water until the last of July before we take it to MI. It will be a test of how well the wax protects from buildup while it's in the slip. One thing I do when we stop to swim or beach it is to walk around the boat with a rag and just do a light cleaning of the lower hull/waterline area.

I'm like @Scottintexas, I prefer to keep it clean and sharp looking and worry a little about the battery drain but my boat has no leaks as of now and it's so much easier to just go to the marina, untie and go instead of dealing with the yahoos at the launch who can't back trailers to save their lives, decide the ramp is a good place to clean their boat after pulling it out or it's a good place to uncover their boat and get things ready before they launch.
