Wet Sound Audio Package

I've read a bunch of threads on the audio upgrades that people have done & also the reviews on the standard stock systems that come on the boats & you guys do not seem too thrilled with the stock system & speakers.

For 2019 the 242 Limited S and 242 Limited SE both come with the premium wet sound audio package which consists of 6 mids, a subwoofer and amp. I am note sure if they have the tweeters in the tower like the 2018's.

I spoke to 3 different dealers at the boat show and they all told me that the Limited S didn't have the sub or amp and since the show, I have confirmed that they indeed do have the same set up as the E

Long story short, has anyone heard the sound quality on the 2019's? I am probably going to go into the season with the stock system and was curious if anyone has listened to the system. Personally I was stoked that the Limited S has the Sub and Amp but I am trying to temper my expectations.

The equipment isn't the problem, it is how it was wired and tuned from the factory. I think the full wetsounds system is better then my factory polk/wetsound stereo.

When you state equipment, do you mean the stock system in your boat and how Yamaha installed & tuned it? Has anyone heard the new wetsound in the boat?

Yes I am talking what came from the factory. I still use the factory core 10 sound bar and 2 of the original amps that came from the factory with my boat, I just have it all wired correctly. Each speaker has its own channel and it is powered to full potential.

The new boats sound good ( better then my factory 2017 system ), I just desired more for my stereo.

I agree with this 100%. I also believe, based on some discussions with owners of late-year 2018 models, that much of the wiring issues have been rectified going into 2019. I haven't heard the 2019 setups, so I can't vouch for this completely, but if there's still problems, I doubt it's hardware. Once I got the wiring issues sorted on my 2018 212X, I've been extremely pleased with the sound system.

And also, I've found Wet Sounds' customer support to be top notch.

As far as i seen around, the 242 s or se doesn't have the same wet sound that the 242xe has.
