So I have the 2019 Yamaha 212X with the wet sounds package. Love the boat, minus a few random issues, one of which is that there’s zero bass on this wet sounds package… The subwoofer is right by my foot as I drive and I can barely hear bass coming out of it yet I know it is hooked up and working because if I Touch the subwoofer you can feel it producing vibration… But no matter what settings I have it on with the equalizer it’s essentially un noticeable… The highs on the tower bar are loud and sound clear and the rest the speakers in the boat are adequate…but almost ZERO bass…any ideas? Or something that I’m easily missing? Thanks and go team!!

Did you buy new? If used, I would check all the wiring to make sure nothing was messed with.

If new, take it to Yamaha. The amp may need to be re-programmed.

Have you checked the settings on the amp? Yamaha is notorious for having poor amp/speaker set up even with good equipment like Wetsounds.

Lots of threads about how to wire your speakers and set the gains and other settings properly

So by default, all stereo systems installed on factory boats are retarded 20-30% to prevent customers from blowing them up on day one. I would check your connections to make sure everything is operating, check your software settings to make sure your EQ isn't all down, but also realize that chasing good bass on a boat will get expensive really quick. One factory sub isn't going to do it.

I agree getting booming bass will require more than one sub. But Wetsounds makes good equipment and you should be able to get some bass. Do you know the model number of the sub? Is it an IB sub?

Agreed - the one 10" on mine from factory puts out noticeable bass. I think it's clear he has an issue with his.

Thanks for all of the replys…I did buy it new…I agree with everyone that one 10” sub isn’t going to be earth shattering but I’m getting about as much bass as the 6x9 that used to be in my first car when I was 16….(the car was a piece of crap, as was the speaker:) ) I’ve been pretty frustrated with Yamaha and the dealer I had it serviced by as of late…the dealer being the worse of the two…when I have more time I’ll post on that as well. In the meantime I’ll check wires, connections, gains and whatnot and report back what I find. As always, thanks for the help!

Good luck. My guess is that it’s the amp settings. Chances are that they were not set properly at the factory. My 2017 settings were totally messed up and they used a cheap Polk sub to boot. Wetsounds are good though.

Lots of threads on how to adjust the settings yourself. Even if you take it to the dealer, not sure they would have the requisite skills to do this unless one of the mechanics is also a stereo guy.

Does the 2019 have gain control? My 2021 is all digital, no controls.

Buy a new amp and either sell or trash the Orem amp, there’s no external adjuster so on it also 4 front speakers are in seriesi would buy an amp for the 6 speakers and a small mono for the sub. Instant great sound

I don’t really know. I assumed all amps gains unless it’s super cheap. Wetsounds makes good amps but maybe the ones Yamaha uses don’t have these controls. I looked on the Wetsounds website but really couldn’t tell

these ws amps are made to yamaha's specs, you need a special software for adjustments, apparently the dealer can adjust, but i dont think you will get full gains. i would just replace with another amp, i took all ws out of my 252 and replaced with jl
