Alright so this past week I went through and replaced the stock Polk PA4A stereo unit and installed the Wetsounds MC-1 in its place (I will be posting a full write up on my boat build in a week or so of this post). Two things of importance to note:

image.jpeg.jpg

1. I have a non-stop "Stereo Comm Error" that I have to silence every 5 minutes. Its not terrible, but it got old the first time out after having everything set up. I have completely removed the PA4A box from the boat (the MC-1 brain box is in its place now) and have also disconnected the Rear Transom "Commander" unit at the Y-Split as well thinking a complete removal of the system may relieve the Connext system of any worries of the OEM Polk System. This was to no avail as I am still getting the error. Any guidance as to what the Connext CAN is looking for would be great. If I can just do a looped wired to complete a circuit, I think that would be ideal.

2. Can someone explain to me why the MC-1 made all my Wetsounds equipment 2x louder than when it was wired to the stock Polk unit? Is there a cap on the volume that comes out of the RCAs on the stock unit?...it is incredible how much louder my system is now.

The Connext is looking for the network connection and can't find it since the Polk unit is gone. I believe @Julian or someone else found a fix, but not sure.

Wetsounds were not stock in the the AR240 so it needs to be tuned for the new head unit. Most likely the stock unit had a volume limit set and the MC-1 doesn't.

Watch your volume levels...too loud and the amps will clip and pop your speakers. Get the system tuned as soon as possible before someone cranks it on you. :D

Oh no worries. I have adjusted the gains to where they need to be. Still not mad about the new and improved volume levels though

The difference is the output voltage of the two headunits. Polk is probably industry standard 2v. MC-1 is 4v.

I've not done this....sorry....I don't have a solution.
