I took my boat in 4 weeks ago about a bunch of spider cracks around the drain channel around the perimeter of the deck, bolts falling out of hatches & a few voids in the gelcoat. My service department is telling me Yamaha is still sitting on it waiting for approval.

How long have you had to wait to get warranty work approved? I’m half tempted to pick my boat up & tell them to call me when the work is approved.

Following. I’m dropping my boat off to get the recalls done and also have them look at the small spider crack on my rear deck. Dealer said they’ll take pics and send it to Yamaha for approval but I can take the boat in the mean time.

Our transducer went out and thanks to the extended warranty, we are covered. I think it only took a couple days for the dealership to file the paperwork and get it approved.

Now... when will that work actually get done is anyone's guess. Transducer's are backordered. This dealer told me a few weeks ago when I called to check in, that he was just now getting the parts in that were ordered in Aug/Sept of '22. Thats about an 8-9 month lead-time.

I have a ‘22 and with half a season of use last year I had 16 warranty items. All of them were approved by Yamaha within a week. It’s the dealer that takes some time to get stuff done. They even approved an item that I technically broke but it broke way too easy. The stainless drain plug broke when it got stuck in the threads from all the crap in the hull. I turned it too hard lol. I’m happy with Yamaha.

My transducer went out. It was covered under YES. From dropping off the boat until fixed and pickup took 10 days.

When was this?

Update: I dropped my boat off at my local dealer once they called, saying the recall parts are in. I dropped it off at 9A, and it was done by noon. The fiberglass spider cracks they took pictures of and notified Yamaha. They said the turnaround time right now is three weeks to a month. I will update once I hear back.

This was around the end of February. The service dept said that if Yamaha didn't have the part, they would source it from somewhere else.

It took my dealer 6 weeks just to look at the boat. Now they are getting Yamaha warranty approvals. Ugh.

I would imagine gelcoat issues would take longer.

Dropped my boat off June 22. Dealer says Yamaha Warranty was notified June 24th of a steering sensor failure. Still waiting for Yamaha approval. WTH
