I would like to get new batteries and would like to save a trip to the storage yard, take the cover off and see what is in there. I could find nothing in the owners manual about the battery specs.

The batteries are dealer installed so they could be anything. Most use group 24 because they are cost effective. I removed the battery trays and replaced them with battery boxes and group 31 batteries for extra capacity.

2-years with these on my 242 LS

Thanks! I did not know they were dealer installed.

Not dealer installed, sorry was just letting you know what I run in my 2013 ...

The Duracell AGM batteries are one of the best if not the best deal out there.

I am running a pair of group 31 Die Hard Platinum batteries. They were made by Odyssey. Unfortunately they were quite expensive and are no longer available.
