I know there are tons of threads about anchors. I just need someone to link me to the box anchor they have that fits in the anchor box on a 2017 AR240. Found some online but they don't give the dimensions of the damn things.

Thanks!

It is more about what you need to hold the boat than what fits. None of the box anchors fit in their fully assembled and ready to deploy mode. But it is one stainless arm that has to be moved to allow it to hold the box as a box vs being flat and able to store. Even in the anchor locker of my 2012 SX240, I could lay it flat and store it right in the anchor locker, connected to the anchor line and tied to the boat, ready to go...just had to open it and turn the spring loaded arm into place. I suspect it will fit in your locker as well. It is the "small" Slide Box Anchor to which I refer (and the small is the size needed for your weight and length), and here is a link to Amazon for free shipping for $147 and change...

Thank you was just typing to ask if that one will work. Saw the thread where you just need to cut a 18" rod/rebar and it will hang in there collapsed.

I use the anchor locker for a basic fluke anchor and chain, and I used the statboard bow under seat storage for my box anchor and just drape the line over to the anchor hatch and close the hatch carefully on it. That way I don't have to close the box anchor, and I have spots for both anchors.

I use a Chene Anchor with about 5 feet of chain. Works well for me, that is after I got used to it.

I store my box anchor in the same place. My anchor locker stores the sandals for everyone that boards. I have both the small and baby box anchor and have found that with a little more rode played out the baby box meets all my needs for my 21ft boat.

Small box anchor is a tight fit, but fits in my 2011 242 anchor locker fully assembled. I have padding in there in case it gets bounced around. It is such a tight fit, only I deploy and retrieve the anchor. That said, it is a great anchor and I like my setup.

I would caution anyone who puts a box anchor in the anchor locker as the bouncing around actually caused spider cracks in my gel coat from the inside out on my 2011 242LS, and I had to eventually get the outside gel coat done. I did have padding in there, but it didn't help. I would suggest some sort of strap to hold it in place if you decide to put it in there, and add some type of padding. With the new AR204 I just got I moved my to under the starboard seat as well, easier to keep it in the bag and dont need to work about it bouncing around.
