Hi everyone. New member here, and almost as new to jet boats. I was called upon by a friend to diagnose her boat problem. It's a 2002 Yamaha LX 2000. Turns out the port side engine is done. One piston completely disintegrated and the entire internals are toast. I'm trying to find a rebuilt engine but I'm having a hard time identifying exactly what engine I need. The sticker says Engine Family 2YMXM1.133CA and the top of the only good piston is stamped 65U. I am thinking it is a 1200 65U but I'm not 100% sure, thus why I'm here to ask all you jet boat experts. Any thoughts?

65u was the descriptor for the GP1200 engines. From the late 90's. They were 135hp each. When they moved up one model year, they started to use the 155hp GP1200r engines. Those boats of course said 310hp on the side.

Check to be sure on the hp rating. So what you are looking for is a roached out GP1200 waverunner and yank the engine.
