Changed oil today and found this. It’s real sticky and tough to get off. It was under the oil filter, so possible I never noticed it before. Any ideas?

That’s a good observation. I’m just trying to make sure there is no way it came out of the engine somewhere. I didn’t see it on the engine anywhere, so I hoped it was just from manufacturing 15 years ago and never noticed

It's also the same color as some brands of anti-seize. It's possibly they used it on components and didn't clean up a spill. It would have been easy to miss hiding under the filter.

Guessing part A of two part JB weld epoxy or equivalent if still sticky.

Not sure what they use for vibration isolation under the engine mounts, urethane pad, or possibly some of that stuff?

It looks to be similar in color to the stuff they used on my boat to adhere the 2 parts of the hull together, but I can't imagine why it's in that area. Possibly a drip or run from the gun before the engines were mounted, and nobody ever removed it?
