What kind of damage?

She was taking on water for the last month before going in to purgatory at my local dealer. They said they found a loose pipe and it was all good. Immediately went to the lake for a test and it was even worse, bilge pump would automatically start every 15 minutes or so. The next morning in the driveway I found this...
I'm pretty sure I know where the water was coming from now. The dealer is insisting that I did the damage somehow but I'm 99% positive that if I had hit something I would have felt it. Also, wouldn't the impact leave some sort of sign of impact? The gelcoat is forced out and there are no scratches anywhere. The only weird thing is that strip on the radiator panel but that's been there since I picked it up off the dealer lot.
At this point I just want to pay the insurance deductible and get her back but I'm concerned about the integrity of the hull. Friends that have seen it say I couldn't have done that and point at a factory hull defect. Delamination?
Any fiberglass people out there have an opinion?

Estimate for repair is $2382.12 with an additional $142.50 for the shop to remove the panel so the fiberglass guy can get to it.

That is definitely a defect. The fiberglass has become defective due the forcible contact with another object with a more resistant surface (aka, rock, concrete, tree stump etc. etc.) lol

I've seen damaged fiberglass and I've seen defective fiberglass (stress fractures) over the years. I cannot say with absolute certainty that it is NOT a defect; however, the picture resembles the exact type of damage caused by hitting something.

Defective fiberglass does not "shear" nor does it result in exposed fiberglass that has "chunks" missing.

If I was a betting man, I'd wager the house that you hit something or run aground on something. Not a big deal and can definitely be repaired. I've damaged my fair share of fiberglass and hulls over the years as well.
