I’ve been running Amsoil in my boats for about 5 years now. Used to run Mobil 1 in my older SX210, but that was 10W30. Never had an issue with either.

Yamalube 4w....always and forever...

I went with the Yamaha oil replacement kit.

Rotella 15/40

I was told to use this by a Yamaha sponsored Jet-Ski racer. He said they give him tons of Yamalibe and he sits it on the shelf. He made a case for the additives, etc. and how Rotella was better.

He sounded like he knew what he was talking about and I’ve been using it ever since…

Yamalube, buy it by the gallon.

Several years ago I switched over to Amsoil products. I became a preferred customer and get the oil delivered to my doorstep. Usually takes two days to arrive. I used the Yamaha oil for the first two oil changes, the next change will be the second oil change with amsoil and I will be running their oil filters as well.

One of the things that sold me on amsoil products is their independent lab testing. That testing is backed up by the condition of my motorcycle engines during preventative tear downs, my motorcycle mechanic once commented that had he walked in and looked the engine not knowing anything about it he would think it was brand new.

I was also doing UOA on my truck engine using a high bypass oil filtration system and the amsoil consistently had very good results. For those unfamiliar with high bypass filter systems you take an oil sample as you approach your oil change interval, typically 15,000 miles and send it to the lab, then the results get emailed to you. If the lab results come back good, then you change the bypass filter only and add 1.5 quarts of make up oil for the bypass filter and crack on for another 15,000 miles. Typically I was going 30-45,000 miles on an oil change. I’m sure our boats could benefit greatly from a system that filters down to 2 microns absolute.

Lots of synthetic oils are good, Mobil 1, Royal Purple, Motul etc. I think synthetic oils are superior to Dino ? oils in these high revving engines.

I suppose it comes down to personal preference.

Another vote for Rotella. I use the 5/40 T6 Synthetic version. The oil at the end of each season looks just as clean as when I put it in. Back in my motorcycle road racing days, everyone used Rotella. The stuff works awesome for continuous high revving engines.

I use what ever the factory puts in. When I had my Yamaha its was Yamalube, in my Seadoos I use XPS and in my MasterCraft I use Rotella.

What weight yamalube do you guys run? I see the manual doesn’t specify

Whatever is in the kits for my engine. I think it's a 10w-40

Been using Yamalube since 2 stroke days with and without oil injection. Have stuck to it since.

yamalube cause of this:

Cheap insurance. Also nice I buy the kits and it comes with everything I need for one engine.

i have also added zddp to engine oil but in very small amounts .. it coats the entire engine bearings ect .. if you get some on your hand its hard to even wash off unlike reg oil alone very slippery stuff

Has this worked for you?
I have tried for both my boat and my waverunner and it wont accept either HID
