Are you running an amp to the interior speakers at this time? If so pretty much any of the above will do well. I just went with the Sony MEX M100BT this head unit has a 4X100 watt class d amp built into it so it really pushes the speakers good and and easy way to add a amp to the interior speakers with out all the extra wiring work.

That is a good receiver, but it is 4X40W RMS (Amp Dyno'd at 42W RMS) not 4x100... Still 40W is much better than the typical receiver and right in line with a low powered amp.

Yes you are correct 42 watts rms unless you run the speakers in line to drag it down to 2 ohms then you are in the 70's per line. Its 2 to 3 times more power full then any other marine head unit out there. The next most power full units I found say 4X55 watts which is actually 15-18 watts rms per line depending on the unit. Most wont need any more power then this on a 6.5 inch speaker as most are only rated for a max power handling in the 50-80 watt range.
You know that I love my Clarion head unit. They have a new M505 out that replaced my M303. Does everything that we need it too and you can add all of the cool tech like RF remotes and transom remote.
just replaced the factory jbl with broken reciever with a kenwood kmr-d765bt lots of options for music inputs. sounds great even on original speakers. installed in 2007 ar230 ho will install the kca-rc55mr to replace the old jbl remote as soon as i decide where to drill the 2 inch hole.
decided to put it where the factory remote was, had to re-holesaw location leaving one of existing mounting holes to be patched
