What rpm should the 1.8 top out at?

I traded in my 2018 sx190 for a 2020 sx 240. My sx190 would top out around 7600 to 7700 rpm. My sx240 both engines top out around 7200 to 7300 rpm. Is this normal? My sx 190 top speed was 44mph with half a tank and 2 people and the sx240 tops out at 52mph with the same fuel and people. If the sx240 would hit the same rpms as the sx190 I could probably hit 55mph and that would be ideal.

Sounds right on the 24' ours tops 51-52 mph 7400 rpm wot

7500 is what i get with full fuel load. 51ish mph. With light fuel it will turn a bit higher

I think I was getting 7700 or 7800 the other day, at sea level, just me and a full tank. Was going into a good wind and I had my top and flags up, I think I hit 52. Only opened it up for a couple seconds, first time I didn’t have my kiddos on the boat and they were about to be at the dock so I didn’t have a lot of time to have some high speed fun.

@Chucksx190 , is your 2020 240 powered by CARB (California air resource board/more environmentally friendly) or non-CARB engines? The former have catalytic converters and produce less power than the latter. Yamaha uses KW as it’s metic for power output. You can find yours on the plate mounted to glues to the engines. The non carb engines produce about 177hp, most people round up to 180hp. There is a thread on here somewhere which contains the formula and the HP for carb engines.

@Ronnie I do have the non CARB engines in my sx240. My max power is rated at 125kw. No converters and no 4 star. Its us emissions not California

From what I just saw on these posts I think my boat is so slow . I got once a 49mph can't recall the RPM. And since then the max I get is 47 mph qt 7100 rpm

Is there an issue with my jet boat or is that normal.
I got the 242 se 2020 model I did a 40.hours so.far

Mine dropped a little after the 10 hour service. I’m thinking they added a little more oil that was originally in it. Got to run wide open for a good amount of time Monday. 7500rpm on both, 50mph, sea level, 5 adults, full ish tank of gas, 47 running from a thunderstorm in the afternoon into a headwind, 75% in the tank.
