Would you want a single engine less than 20 foot value model or a twin engined off shore model with big fuel tanks, live wells and bait tanks?

Would you prefer a center console or bass boat styled boat?

Would you prefer a fish and ski combination?

Would you want to have a graph included or install your own?

Would you want to have a trolling motor included or install your own?

Would you want a VHF radio?

Would a water level swim platform make a good fishing spot and place to land the big ones?

Lets discuss what the perfect jet powered fishing boat would be.

Fish.

My brother is the fisherman of the family.
He has been hoping for a twin engined 21'-22' center console Yamaha for quite some time.

It would need that keel and rudder to prevent it from blowing around (lake fishing with a trolling motor).
I'd want a trolling motor built in, with spots for the batteries.
Live well and bait well.
Seat mounts bow and stern.
I'd probably go fish and ski route....so not a center console.
Need somewhere to put rods.
Spots where you can place tackle boxes (flat surfaces front and rear)
Spot for a cooler.

Someone pointed out that the new flip up hinged seats are nice, but where do you put a cooler? Well guys....why not get a cooler with a hinged lid that would attach to the bottom of that hinged seat. Then PRESTO, you open the seat and it opens the cooler!!!! Make it a simple bungee connection so you can easily disconnect and remove the cooler!

Fish, that's the truth!
- Not a center console. Family/sport design
- trolling motor mount and/or motor included
- live wells
- refrigerator, similar to what @Bruce installed
- rod holders including trolling setup
- removable cutting boards
- fresh water shower/spray
- stainless steel scupper
- tow valves if this is a double engine or closed loop cooling.
- Possible to make it unsinkable like a boston whaler?
- lot's of standard, led lighting and a built in spotlight. underwater light might be a nice option
- optional fish finder or hook up

Some of the wish list items I feel is what led me to wait for the 2015 242LS. The rudder and extended keel I think will help the boat track better at slow speeds/trolling, the rear swimdeck as some refer to it or I like to call it the rear fishing platform, the rear added storage should work nicely for tackle gear in one side and family toys in the other. I may eventually look into molding a fiberglass live well under one of the seat cushions. Im sure Will with JBP will come up with a fishing package that will help take care of the rest of the essentials for landing some fresh water walleye.

Down riggers & rocket launchers
Less vinyl
Swim platform reworked for fishing...maybe fold down bait/cleaning/filleting table with a higher powered wash
Live well

All bundled up in a SKEETER - Also by Yamaha !!!

'Course if I had my choice, I'd take the Babes first, the boat second .......... and I could find a way to do without Fishing.

For a day. LOL !

Y'all play nicely now, y'hear ? !!!!
Mikey Lulejian - Lake Oconee, GA - Where we do NOT have EITHER Babes or Fish like that !!!

In true modder form I would want it to be a boat just like any other with drop in live wells and a rod rack that attaches to the bimini or tower.

There would have to be several models I would think. For in shore, low flat gunwales that you can walk on, casting decks front and rear, would not want the multi tier swim platform like it is, maybe a single tier or combine it into a rear casting deck. For off shore, 24' is a must with much larger fuel tank(s), again no rear multi level platform, maybe a drop down transom to double as a swim platform/tuna door type, def. center console, T Top with provisions for electronics, out riggers, add trim tabs etc. Live well, insulated fish boxes, leaning post with drop out bolsters and minimal vinyl, no carpet, raw water wash down.... Making me drool typing this and too bad I no longer live where I could use it but it sure would be nice!

Single, less than 20 feet...
Center console (kinda)...
Fish and ski combination for sure...
GPS... and VHF
No need for a trolling motor...
Water level swim platform (just a small one)
Built in coolers
Remote control searchlight (for night fishing)
And rod holders everywhere...

Well here ya go:
