I installed 4 sets throughout my boat controlled by a switch panel. Mounted the switch panel so I could control which areas get lighting. RARELY use it, unfortunately. Passengers love the lighting but not the Bugs.
Thermacell devices are almost magical. It is the only device that works for repelling mosquitos. As a current resident of Minnesota, I know of what I speak. We have six of them and set them up in an overlapping pattern on our 25 x 25 patio and the whole area is free of mosquitos all night. And that's with a wooded, damp backyard. Only exception is that they don't work in windy conditions all that well.I don't do a lot of night boating but we installed red lights and don't have an issue with bugs. One thing that works for bugs if your just sitting still is thermacell. Popular with hunters. I bought one but haven't needed it yet.
Mine isn't over the top but just right for me. They are 5050 RGB's in all cup holders, cutouts on transom and under the swim platform.
Lets see some pics!! I bet it looks awesome!McTafuost: 5224 said:I installed 4 sets throughout my boat controlled by a switch panel. Mounted the switch panel so I could control which areas get lighting. RARELY use it, unfortunately. Passengers love the lighting but not the Bugs.
I have always wondered about the bugs with these lighting mods. We are not night boaters, but I have to think the bugs love the only, sliver of light available in the middle of a dark lake.
