We are curious to know why you joined this site.....

2 Got booted. Free and open is always better.

I too got booted! Several times as a matter of fact! Seemed to be the norm. I was very resistant to joining a new forum because I didn't want to take away from the history and knowledge base over there. Well, seasoned members just continued to leave or be controlled. Time for change and a new and healthy relationship!

YOU got booted? unbelievable! WTF happened?
It's a long story that tensions between us built up over the years. We started friends. I drove to Dallas twice to rebuild his motors so he could take his boat out. Took them twice to Texoma on our dime for a weekend. Sent donations often and sent him cash several times.

That will teach you! You ought to be a stingy bastard like me!

You always have a special way of saying things.

@Glassman I'm stingy too! But I contributed both money and time....sucked into it...peer pressure...oh well..
@DCB-270 You went to great lengths to help him....and got pretty much the same treatment as me....by the sound of it even worse!

Oh well....we are off to a good start here....and I think we have a lot of fun!

Wow! When you get banned u feel like you are the only one because you can't keep up. Looking forward to a great new website.

#7 all of the above

Man I missed the jet heads. Good for you standing up to Hitler. I guess I was banned at the time.

Do you think there might be a back door secret subsidy paid by Yami to Brian? That would substantiate inflating member numbers and his refusal to sell the site.

I never heard of the jet heads site---guess I wasn't in that crowd to get an invite. Hehe!

No good deed goes unpunished.
I joined because I missed my buddy, Mel :) and the wealth of information that those who were booted bring.

I joined because I really do like helping people with their boating related issues and learning more about my boat. Several times I've been out on the water and something's happened and I knew exactly how to handle it because I read helpful advice given by my friends within this community.

I can't tell you how many times I was out on the lake and met a fellow Jetboater that owned a Yamaha. I was always eager to direct them to this group of enthusiasts. All I wanted was a simple sticker on my boat, a business card with an Internet address or god forbid a tshirt. Well needless to say that wasn't a priority on the old site. In fact, how that "Logo Contest" was handled really ended my fun over there. I really had difficulty donating money to that site after how that was handled.

I was willing to put an ASS load of money into somebody's pocket for those stickers, shirts & business cards. In turn, I would've given most of them away. Isn't that how marketing works? But every time something got brought up, things got ugly. What a shame.

So, here's to a great start. Thanks guys for putting in all of your efforts. I'm looking forward to all of the great things to come.

My boat never looked so good!:playful: @Suchawittygal ...uh, :wideyed:you may have a measurement problem! Your boat is 24" longer than you have listed it!
Typical Mel. Always overstating the actual size of things
