Will my SUV tow a 242 Limited S?

When I bought the boat, it was in a slip at the marina and I have not yet had it on the trailer. Currently, I have a 2008 MB ML550, with a max trailer weight of 7200 pounds and max tongue weight of 576 pounds, 382 hp with the factory hitch receiver, but the top of the hitch is only about 16-17" height. Spec wise it should pull the boat, but the PO thinks I won't be able to see anything behind me but a wall of black Yamaha hull, and the hitch will be too low.

I only need to tow it about 1400 miles to Florida and thought I would ask before I burn a day getting the trailer out of the boat yard, taking to the marina, loading, driving around a few hours, etc. I would rather not if the vehicle is unrealistic to tow.

Should be fine I have a touareg just towed a 242 from NC to FL. No issues.

Used a 2 inch rise receiver. Should be similar for you

You have plenty of headroom with your capacity numbers. Just get the right hitch rise or drop to get the trailer as level as possible. As long as you keep your speeds in check you should do fine. Make sure all your tires are properly inflating and you have good fresh grease in the trailer wheel bearings and you shouldn't have anything to worry about but keeping gas in your Mercedes fuel tank before the next gas station.
