so..... The admiral informed me today, that I can't boat this weekend since she is dropping a 15 yard dumpster so I can tear out the kitchen which I was supposed to do in the spring. I guess that is fine, but then I was informed that my outdoor shed won't be happening this year if I we are talking about going to a bigger boat (i.e. AR250). Anyhow I can't really keep the boat in the drive all winter since I will have no where to throw all the snow and park all the cars so I started calling around about inside storage.

WTF..... No heat, inside storage with no access till spring is $319 per month. With heat is over $400. And that is the cheapest. Boy people taking big advantage of everyone around here. And they indicated they are filling up fast. Not happy. Can't find anything cheaper up to an hour or more away. Not Cool...

Family with boat looking for Friendly Farmer in Southeastern Michigan with room in a pole barn for a reasonable price ;)

Why dont you just have it shrink wrapped

Yup. That's why we don't store it. Wayyyy to expensive. Keep it at home coverd

Don't really have room in the drive and cant park it off the drive in the backyard because of city zoning. Couldn't find any outside storage anywhere.

Is something like this not possible in your yard? I don’t know how it would do with snow but that’s how I keep mine out of the Florida sun. With 9’ sides I’m able to back my AR240 in and still keep the tower up. $1,000-$1200 and 3 guys put it in like 3 hours.

Does Michigan have county fairs? I ask because we store ours in one of their barns for cheap at the end of October until April. Cheap like < $20 per foot to store on the trailer, in the barn.

Negative. city is being an ass. Would love something like this. It would have to be on a foundation and a slab and I would have to have a concrete drive from where the drive ends to it. Not cool at all.

That is a great idea, unfortunately the ones around here are traveling so they use mutli purpose centers.

Check with some of the storage unit places. Ones around here sell outdoor parking spots around their perimeter for $60 per month. I have been keeping mine there all winter for 7 seasons. The shrink wrap guy come there wraps her and I say good by for the winter.

I did, nothing available. I will keep looking.

$319 a month?! Did you search the local FB ads and Craigslist for a local farmer or whoever storing boats? $350-$400 for the winter is typical.

Shoot, for $300 a month I’d be tempted to build something in my yard for both our boats. St Louis area might be a little tough for easy access though. Lol

I sent an email for one on craigslist a few minutes ago. There are a couple more but they are in real sketchy areas. Would hate to have damage done that I need to get repaired in the spring.

This is the reason I refuse yo buy a boat that won't fit in my garage, indoor storage in my area is scarce and expensive. My SX210 went in with the caster mod and it's a PITA, so for that reason we are leaning towards a Mastercraft NXT20 as our next boat, I can keep it hooked to my truck when I move it in and out of my garage. My garage never gets to freezing so I don't have to worry about anything getting frozen and break.

My garage door is 7' so that is out. I wanted to build a 16' by 30' in the back yard. I have a 330' deep lot on suburban city, one of the few. Anyhow, planning on sticking a 9' door on it so I can just glide back in. Also 30' so if I upgrade boats I will always be able to get it in there. BUT, admiral said no go this year so maybe next summer/fall. I guess it will all depend on how much we spend on boating and any trips the family wants to take. May have to just figure out something else for this winter and for next at the latest.

Over the past 25 years I have used my garage, tobacco barns, fair grounds, and now storage unit outside

@mark_m will call them tomorrow.

Now someone educate me......

When I look at that picture for the Wayne County Fairgrounds, they are packing everything inside tight and ass to nose. Does that mean you can't get your boat out till the spring or on a certain day? I mean do you leave the keys to the car and the boat hitch unlocked and they can move it around to get someone else's vehicle or boat out? What is the process come spring or in an emergency if you need your vehicle/boat?
