Winterizing a Merc 175xr2

Hi all. I am a new 1999 Sugar Sand Tango owner who lives in Michigan, so unfortunately I have to store the boat for the winter. The boat will be stored inside but in an unheated area. I did not get any kind of manual with the boat and it seems like a manual is not available for the Tango.

So my question is what do I need to do to prep the boat and winterize it? I know that there is a hose connection that allows the the engine to run when attached to a garden hose, and that I should just pour RV anti freeze into that hose until it comes out underneath. Is this the correct procedure? Any insight into this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thank you or the link. All I could find is instructions for a Yamaha engine. I was hoping to find some information specific to the Mercury 175 xr2 motor. Can anyone help?

I am not sure.
Most people here have 80% yamaha's. 19% scaraab and 1% other boats.
I was hoping that FAQ will have enough generic info that you could apply to the your boat.
