I agree with @Chuckbig. The reason I want to install a second is for redundancy and the OEM pump runs needlessly to see if there is water present, using battery power. If you run a separate circuit with a switch and a pump with a internal float , this is simple and I've always be told to "keep it simple".
Curious to know where you would put it? I am a huge fan of redundancy and would be interested in adding another pump.... just not sure where/how I would do so.
I plan on doing it this winter and placing it right next to the OEM one. I am going to use 5200 to secure the bottom of the pump. They separate into two pieces, the pump and the screen. You secure the screen down and then clip the pump into the screen. If the pump fails you can just replace the motor, it will clip into the existing screen.
