Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.
I bought my 242 that was always wet slipped in fresh water. Both my pumps looked way worse. I ended up removing them, disassembling, and having them blasted and painted (because I didn't wet slip and had to see them all the time).
I wet slip in fresh water as well, usually from April/May until September/October. Mine look worse. I will probably have them cleaned and powder coated or anodized when I can't stand the look anymore, but so far......
Have you tried scraping the surface oxidation off the anode? maybe it needs a better sacrificial surface area. I added a few anodes to my waverunner when this started happeneing, I also spray lube the hell out of my nozzles and clean-out plugs, with the convenience of not wetslipping
@Britboater recommended boeshield in one of his posts. I have been using this protectant for 3 months in my saltwater laden uses. I am impressed by its durability and protection.
