You might look for a swap @steined . Especially if a guy has a choice for say $500 difference at the dealer, but has no need for it. He may be willing, since yours is virtually new, to swap with you for a nominal fee. The issue will become the titles. Some states require trailer titles, others don't. But anyone with a loan, without the trailer broken out and separate from the boat, will end up having to clear the balance on the loan to get clear title to sell it. The lender won't want to do this work and release the title if it isn't already released. In either instance, the balance, either on the trailer, or both trailer and boat, will have to be paid to get a title release. So if you can find someone buying now, and they can get separate title and loan on each, you stand a better chance of swapping too. Now if both yours and theirs have a clear title with no lean holder, your golden!
They don't sell Galvanized trailers around here and the dealer only orders painted. But that is an excellent plan. Maybe someone will see this in the future through a search though. If so please PM me! I'm clear on the trailer so could be a simple transaction.
