WTB Polaris RZR 170

I’m on the hunt for a Polaris RZR 170 for the kids. Or, possibly a 570.

I want the fuel injected model, so that’s 2015 or newer for the 170.

I’ve found a few on FB Marketplace, but at this point I’m refusing to pay much over blue book. My budget for this project, depending on the year and shape is 3,500 to 4,000.

Let me know if anyone has one that hasn’t been horribly abused or if any searches in your area turn up better results. I’m not opposed to traveling a bit, but probably need to stick to the Midwest.

Thinking hard about that. But, it’s such a jump from his little 50. This would be for the 8yr old. Plus, we still have a 5yr old coming up behind him. She’s anxious for her turn on the 50. So, I can probably get 3-4 yrs with him on the 170, plus 3-4 more years when she gets big enough. I’m feeling like 6 yrs of use on the 170 would justify it.

My other thought was to let my 14yr old ride the 570, and give the 8yr old the Honda 250 Recon that she rides currently.

Here’s the current fleet. Any additions will need a larger trailer. It’s plumb full, and the little 50 is in the bed of the side by side.

they usually come with 2 keys a learners key and a fast key, also you could put a block under the pedal to limits speed, the good thing about the 570 you can take one of them for a ride, not so much on the 170, but if it will take a long time to outgrow it get the 170

I agree my kids had the little rzr and to be honest. We also had the knockoff, much cheaper version and there was little difference and they both used the same hop up parts. It did 36 (gps) with me in it though. They just don't have the torque to trail ride. They have to keep the speed up.

Any reliability issues with the knockoff? Was that an SSR, I think? Off to google speed limiting on a 570...

No issues. It was a trailmaster with a clone Honda motor.

Just an update.... I actually found a 2019 Polaris ACE 150 right after Thanksgiving. It’s got a couple blemishes (nothing serious), but I feel like I got a real good deal on it.

I saw a video of a guy that said he chose an ACE over the small RZR in an effort to limit the distractions for the young driver. No need to have a passenger, with that in mind. That kind of made sense to me.

So far, he’s loving it. I have the speed control set on the 3rd setting which maxes out at 22mph. Top speed is 29. It’s electronically controlled by changing out fuse locations.
