Yamaha 19 footer gettin’ it done

I love those haulover videos. You don’t see too many Yamahas.
That guy did well getting through there. I’d have crapped myself.

I love watching the Haulover videos. So much to learn studying them. He handled that really well and it looks like a lot of fun.

We found in really rough stuff, that getting the revs into the 3500+ range brings the bow up nicely (just like making wake) and with the deadrise we can punch through waves without issues. Our old boat had an 8 degree deadrise and would bounce and roll around like a puppy on a blanket trying to get through chop. In those conditions, I'm sure we would have found the concrete docks immediately.
:D

There are two inlets I use to get ocean side from IC ramp. Wake Zones kill me and prefer to stay ocean side or South towards Key Biscayne Lighthouse
Haulover is the Northern one and where the cruise ships go out to the South is other.

I made a circle from one to the other when I had ski. I did it in the boat and it handled just like that but had 4 people.
Kids sat in the front which I designated the "Splash Zone"

@bigwaves .....LOVE this stuff. I guy I met diving last winter said his son was posted to the USCG Station at Checto Bar for Captain's Training. He said it was the most fun (almost) his son ever had in his life. The sound of the big diesels screaming (assuming they are super or turbo charged or both) was awesome. There may still be some videos - "Coast Guard versus Rough Seas Checto Bar" training excersises. They were on the internet a few years ago.

Thats how I even learned Yamaha sold jet boats. I was at the Sebastian inlet in Florida watching a boats come in and out with a ripping outgoing tide and very rough conditions when I saw a Sea Doo then a Yamaha go out and handle it better than boats similar in size. I was shocked. So I went online and found Yamaha and this forum.
