Recently got a house on the Carolina coast in the Ocean Isle Beach area with access to the inter-coastal water way. Was looking for a mid to upper 20ft boat for pleasure use & saw the 242 review. Did a search but could not find an answer.

Can these boats be used off shore without problems? Thanks for any input

Plenty make the trip to Bimini Bahamas every year. It's not a dedicated off shore boat. Jet boats are not the BEST at anything but they are good at most everything. Every boat/manufacturer has it's quirks.
I would like a 242 limited s with trim tabs. That or the Scarab 255 open would be the best i think. Yamaha has self draining decks and the scarab open style/series does as well. That is important.

These boats are extremely versatile, easy to trailer, low maintenance, and high resale value.
Definitely seaworthy, especially if equipped with trim tabs.
One thing to consider is storage - I would not want to wet slip one in salt but with access to a lift - no issues.
