I have owned prop boats in the past and am looking at the Yamaha 242EX.
I am concerned that we will not have a big enough wake for wake surfing.
What I like about the Yamaha is:
-no prop means no prop repairs from hitting a rock and safer for people in the water
-more useable seating area for all our family and grandchildren
-good value compared to other major quality brands
Before buying the 242EX, I would be most grateful for your thoughts about:
-How often does the Yamaha jet boat get tangles in the shaft/impeller...is it easy to clean?
-Is the wakebooster a hassel to put on and off?
-Does the 242EX with wakebooster produce a big, long wake?
-Yamaha brochure does not talk about built-in water pump ballast system...does it work well?
-Do Yamaha carb/engines handle changes in altitude?....We are looking at Folsom Lake 400' above sea level to Donner Lake 6000' feet above seal level.
A sincere Thank You for any comments.
