Chatlee boats in Sanford NC has 3 25' boats in stock, so while I was there dropping off my boat I crawled around them some. Here are some quick thoughts and photos of the XE.

It is a beautiful boat. I will be very interested to see how the surf system does in wave production. It looks hefty and the ballast is increased over my 242x by approx 50% (1100 to 1600lbs). The drawback is this consumes a bunch of storage space, but surfers tend not to care. It still has the big changing room, helm and bow seat storage.

The went with hard tanks for the ballast. The outlet is 1.5 inches (eyeball measurement) so dumping should be faster, and there are 2 dump points. This should also allow you to fill 100%. The engine compartment layout goes from gunnel to gunnel now on all the models. In the X that area is filled with tanks. In the other models it is used for open storage, batteries or shower tank.

The top end models have added accessory switches at the helm (finally). The AR250 doesn't have them.

I like the seat integrated table and cooler storage.

Yes they are still using the hard yellow bow roller.
