Good day all jet boaters out there!! I'm buying my first boat and narrowed down to the yamaha 2017 ar195. Does anybody have a 19 foot yamaha and Plz tell me what you think of it. Plz tell me about roominess and functionality and if your truly happy with your purchase... this is a big investment for me I just want to make sure I'm making a good choice... thank you for your time I'm looking forward to your feedback...

The main drawback of the 195s, the way I see it, is the price. Those boats are a dynamite, and haul a load of people when asked to. At the end of the day, you can fit it in your garage, trailer it behind anything, and move it around your driveway by yourself - it is a winner!

Personally, with the 195 out, I wouldn't look at a new 192 unless the price difference was 10k or so. You can make the 192 come close or match the performance of 195 but it takes a lot of effort and money. The new SVHO powerplant is probably the best there is in that segment of marine industry and we boaters are very fortunate to have the jetskiers do all the extreme testing for us. I'm not a huge fan of superchargers, but the 195 with the new 160mm pump is about as close to the PERFECT powerplant/drivetrain as it gets. I would DEFINITELY get the AR with the tower, even if you are not currently doing water sports. As long as it fits in the garage, of course. It increases the value of the boat, a lot, and is very expensive and/or difficult to do aftermarket. Anyone who says otherwise has probably never mounted one.

Don't listen to that bullshit about buying your second boat first. Buy what you can comfortably and safely afford and handle.

Yes, you can find a nice used Yamaha for half the price. Meticulously taken care for... and then perhaps find out a month later a bunch of shit falling apart because its old. Been there.

Buy new, take care of it, and with an SVHO Yamaha you will be enjoying it for a long time.

When you bring it home, wax the hull before you launch. Lots of premium cleaner wax, these hulls are dirty and dry.
Personally, I would get the Cobra Ultimates w/Fangs and set them up all the way down at speed (all the time). It will make the handling a bit closer to a regular boat. Unless you like slip-sliding sideways, but for me that would the first and perhaps the only performance mod the 195 needs.

EDIT: I used to have a 190, so I kind of have an idea. Love my 240, but I can totally see myself going back to 195 in the future.

Sounds like some good advice swatski. I appreciate you taking time to school me on the subject. I used to build boats for eliminator 20 years ago so I'm going to do some custom modifications rex marine in California has some great billet parts anodized colors to make things cool...

Man, that sounds really cool. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!!!
(The above was just my 0.02, do not mean to come through too strong)

Well I would give my .02 but mine don't count since it's not a "boat sized boat" or rehashing some old wives tale of 'wise men' nonsense. :D

But seriously welcome to the forum and I agree with @swatski statement. Many of us love our 19' boats. They are spacious, reliable, agile and most important....FUN! If I had known about the 195 a month before getting my 192 I would have waited for it. Great boats with a really nice power train foundation.

Billet parts you say? Yum

Yeah Google rex marine all kinds of nice Bling.... California customs known for using rex parts. Great bezels for gauges grab handles and so on...

Looking forward to seeing what you do with your 195. Welcome to the forum and start posting

It's all good swatski... I like people who tell it is. I'm here to learn about yamahas and hopefully meet some really cool people with similar interest.

I'm more than happy with my 192. I would add to what @swatski was saying, the only way to get a "new" 192 would be to find a leftover. The 195 has replaced the 192 as of 2017.
