I just st sold my Hurricane Sundeck. I am looking at the 212x hard. Give me your thoughts and recommendations.

Buy it now! 212x is a great Yamaha. You will
Enjoy it and you have a team of experts here to help you mod it up real nice...

Yes, buy it and you will love it.

Had a 2013 212x for the last 4 years loved the boat. Not one problem ever. Started every time I turned the keys. Super fun to drive, i.e. bat turns and 57 mph WOT!!! Great colors and materials on the interior. I decided to trade it in last month for a new 2016 242ls. Reasons,,, quiet cruise, more seating, storage, forward sweep tower, hinged seats, lights in all the right places and better on the sometimes rough conditions on Lake Washington. Are you looking new 2017's or previously loved years. Good luck!

The 212 would be my pick if I were buying a boat today.

"You're gonna need a bigger boat". :) I can't find a shark emoji for the Jaws reference.
I started looking at the 190 and ended up with a 240. I'm glad I did. We often have 6-7 people on the boat and the 24 foot boat works well. I think you'll be happy with the 212. Its a little smaller and may be easier to store if thats what you are going to do. No matter what boat you get, if its a Yamaha, make sure you ask the seller if its a CARB boat. CARB boats are California emission standard boats, slightly less engine HP and performance. There is a sticker on the side of the boat, should be, and there are CARB stickers in the engine compartment.

Welcome to the forum!

Welcome @JoeN personally, I love the 212x. However, for a more accurate recommendation it would help to have more information on how, & where you plan on using the boat. Also, things that you loved & disliked about your previous boat.

Good luck with your search. Glad to have you on the site.

Yamaha is the most reliable, least costly to maintain out of any boat.

thats a fact(from me :D)

The 2017 212x is a sweet ride. Great combination of features/power and handling!

Guys I appreciate the support. I took a test drive today on a 212x and loved it. It takes a bit to get used to the drive but you can manuvier it much better than my Hurricane. I believe I'm going to pull the trigger on it tomorrow. Thanks again.

Welcome! If you're a seasoned boater, it only takes a few minutes to figure out the maneuverability. Quit over-correcting!

I have the 2017 212 Limited and I have been extremely pleased so far. Third trip out and had a good test on it Monday. 5 Adults 4kids, 85% fuel, two coolers and 15-20 mph winds from the east. Rough chop in the bay and on plane quickly with power to spare, almost 60 miles for the day with sandbar, Elliot Key island exploring, and a run to Alabama Jack's and back to the marina. Couldn't have been more pleased with the performance!

Congrats. I'm sure you will be very happy

Coming from the Hurricane, one of the 24's might be worth a look. We went from a Four Winns 242 Fundeck to our 242; pretty seamless as far as elbow room. I think you will love any Yamaha though!

We have a 2014 212x and love it. That being said if surfing isn't a priority, i would go for an ar240 for the extra room.
