Yamaha SX195 Speed Record??

This is a video of my 2018 Yamaha SX 195 top speed test run.

The test run was conducted on the CT river in Rocky Hill, CT on 5/12/21. Here is the test conditions...

Air temperature 70 degrees F
Water Temperature 57 degrees F
Relative Humidity 35%
Half a tank of fuel
2 people
Light chop and 15-20 mph wind

We tested the Lucky 13 Cone with only the 3mm (gold) spacer.

The acceleration was incredible and we topped out 68.4 mph at 8550 rpm

The top speed was 3mph faster than with wet-wolf adjust a thrust. I did try the Lucky 13 with the other day with all the spacers in and it stuffed the pump and my top speed was 64 mph.

This is my complete setup that I tried today.

I have about $8000 in total and that’s also for stuff on the trailer, stereo stuff, and electronics. To subsidize part of the cost, I also sold all of my OEM stuff that I took off as well. Once you go to a stage 3 there’s really no turning back, unless you want to take everything off and go back to the factory.

That’s pretty impressive. It’s interesting about the 3 spacers stuffing the pump.

Yeah by having all of the spacers in it dropped the rpms about 300 rpm. I’m actually going to continue testing it with different spacer setups and see what I come up with...

Hey Guys, some great information on this thread. I'm in the process of upgrading my 2020 SVHO SX195 and it was suggested I do the ribbon delete. From what I have read this is suggested on the aspirated engines. What are your thoughts on the SVHO?

From what I've gathered, it's too much work for very little improvement. The supercharger pressurizes the intake so not much difference. And the ribbon is larger in recent models (2019+ ?) making it less of an issue. The older normally aspirated 1.8's get more benefit from the ribbon delete as it allows slightly better airflow and most of the difference is low and mid-range improvement. I don't know how much of an improvement there is with newer models with the larger ribbon.

I considered the delete on my 212s but after two seasons and the larger ribbons, I don't really feel a need to do it. There's plenty of punch with twins and more airflow means more fuel flow while cruising. I'm good where it is...and these crazy gas prices aren't helping.

Do you have a picture of the "Resonator Delete W/Custom Free Flow Exhaust" ? My resonator has a crack in it and im thinking of running a straight pipe in in place

68mph on the old hull 19' is downright scary.

45mph on the modern 195 is scary as hell, it is not a planted boat at all.
