[USERGROUP=9]@HELP[/USERGROUP] stuck on water.
The boat won’t start

it just clicks. Like a bad relay or starter.

check to make sure ALL connections to the battery are TIGHT and that all wires are connected.

Do you have a portable jumper? if so try that if not if you have jumper cables and can turn the truck close enough to use jumper cables that would work

Check your swim platform to make sure it is tight against the kill switch...also check your kill switch at the helm if you have to pull it all the way out and reseat it.

be sure you are in neutral

make sure u have the battery switch to on

Just a click is usually a dead/weak battery. Jump box or jumper cables.

What lake are you on @B0at1n ? Anyone else nearby?

Tapping the starter got it going.

how difficult is a starter to replace?
started 15 times since with no issue now.

Check that the starter bolts are secure.

Sounds like you have a dead spot on the starter comutator windings. Keep an eye on it. If all your connections are clean and secure and your starter selenoid is good (,no burn Mark's or potted contacts) you may have to change the starter.

is all of that buried back behind the motor where the starter is?

If your remove the EM its super easy. It has so may bolts
o_O

There are two bolts you have to feel for that hold it to block.

EM is exhaust manifold correct?
Looks like it has 10 bolts going into the block.
Once I remove that I should have access to the starter?

will I need a replacement gasket oris the EM gasket reusable?

side notes, was just feeling around under the EM and the starter bolt was completely undone already. Could these be a cause of my issue or is it still likely the starter is going bad?

Also yamahasportsplaza has the OEM one that’s $450 or the one on amazon is $86. Any issues with the amazon one?

Buy OEM starter.
I never trusted cheap starters.

In part 2 or 3 you can see it in video. If you have one bolt just use mirror for other one.
Taking EM off in a PITA

Video? I must of missed the link.

do you what size the bolt heads are by chance?

If I’m looking at the schematic correctly. The motor is only held in place with one bolt.

number 15 in the schematic.

the bolt that I have loose looks to be the one that holds the assembly together. Number 17 that runs long ways.

[USERGROUP=9]@HELP[/USERGROUP] needs to be specified in the body, not the subject for the alerts to work, I believe.
