Hello all!

This is my first post as I am new to the forums, I have a question regarding the two black flexible lines connected to the rear seat on the back of the boat(not even sure what they are?). I was cleaning out the engine compartment and noticed the hose on the left is not actually connected to anything in the engine. I was curious if it was supposed to be connected to the black box next to it, but I don’t see anywhere it would attach. I appreciate your time, and am trying to familiarize myself with the components. I apologize for my stupidity :(

Very Respectfully,
Joe

You mean these? If so, those are hoses that connect to the drains right in front of the driver and passenger seats by the floor. Those drains go through those hoses, through a check valve and directly out of the boat.

They sometimes get clogged. So use enough water pressure and flush them once in a while.

Not a dumb question btw. Many are confused. lol

Thank you for the quick reply sir! Those were not the hoses in question but that is very valuable information that I will use! I have attached a pic with the hoses in question circled.

Oh lol. Those are the hoses for the blower and fresh air intake. One of them is just a straight pipe that goes behind the stern swim platform seat (starboard aka right) and the other is the same but with a blower (aka fan).

You likely know what the blower is for, but in case you don't, it's to suck out any potential fumes. If there's an accumulation, there's a potention for an explosion. The official rule is you're supposed to start it a few minutes before you start the engine and then leave it on while the engine runs.

As a new owner, I recommend reading this if you haven't already: New Owner? Read This!
Thanks so much! I will read in its entirety. Just to confirm the one for the blower is connected to the black box pictured. I’m guessing that’s the exhaust for the fan. And the other is supposed to be connected to nothing just to allow passive fresh air to come in?

Other way around. The one connected brings fresh air into the engine systems. The one connected to nothing is located towards the bottom of the engine bay to suck out fumes that are denser than air.
