Hi there, I'm in the process of buying a fully loaded 2015 250hp 223 vrx with 50 hours
Anything in particular you recommend I look for during the inspection tomorrow. I'm also taking it to the service centre for a mechanical inspection.
I've seen/read the stories here about carbon rings and misaligned shafts and missing components and grinding steering and low rpms - I haven't bought it yet and already I'm thinking of selling it ! ;) ok, that was a joke.

Anyway, with the benefit of your hindsight, let me know what you recommend I look and listen for that's unique to rotax engines, jet pump assembly, the associated electronic controls and digital display.

Edited : I've already taken the hull number to the dealer and checked the maintenance history: service history is fine and in accordance with the schedule, no reported issues

So, I went ahead and bought it. The pre buy inspection came up with the usual suspects - carbon seals, exhaust O2 sensors and steering cable needing replacement.

I decided to have it repainted as well. It's probably not to the purists liking but I'm happy with it.
