The other factor is time to get you serviced. If something major goes haywire, it may be a week or two if you pay out of pocket, vs the whole season remainder waiting on parts and labor from specialized Yamaha delivery channels special for your warranty.
If you were assured identical service to what you could pay for I might even consider it if I was not handy and willing to do most of it myself, but when collecting on your warranty you are always a second class citizen that already paid. For that reason, I am out!
