2019 AR240 Audio upgrade

@Z1500 I installed my single sub on the battery side first in case I didn't want to add another one (my original plan was to do two on the port side in the storage compartment there). After having the solo (and I have a custom dual sub setup in my truck) I feel the boat has "enough" bass. However....I'm still going to add a second sub across from this one like you did in hopes of distributing the sound better. Right now, even turned down, the bass can hit so hard (tuned to 60hz LPF, maybe down to 50 I'd have to check), it rattles the battery compartment seat lol.

Damn the boating life and spending more money...

Actually I haven't done mine yet but planning on putting one sub in the bow and one in the mid cabin. That's what I meant by distribute it around.
Having two near each other like that will increase volume in that area but not do much for getting bass up to the front of the boat.
I might end up with 4 subs if I'm not getting enough volume out of 2.

All the rattles in these boats seem like half the audio problem. Some bracing and rubber pads will likely be in my future.

Really? I'd like to see that if you have a pic.
SUre.
Here is what you need to be watching for! - if you sever those wires it is a messy fix.

That is perfect. I'm doing that for sure.

Okay so for an update, I went with 3 sets of Mx650's replacing the stock 4 and adding 2 at the cockpit. Then I went ahead and ordered a set of the MX770 tower speakers that will get painted to match my boat when they arrive. I am gonna run the two bow speakers off the HU because everybody who sat in the front said it was too loud already :/ so my plan is to amp the cockpit 2, stern 2, and the tower speakers with 75 Watts RMS to them all. Ive been researching subs and a mono amp for it because I would like to do a IB sub on its own amp but that might have to wait until next season. I also bought 75 ft of JL audio 16 awg speaker wire, do you guys think that is okay to use on the tower speakers or should I use 14 or 12??

The speaker wires in the MX770's are 16awg =).

Make sure your fusion stereo is capable for the upgrade. I added a slampak tower system but had to get an adapter overnighted for the fusion stereo to work.

I would use 14 AWG minimum to the tower speakers.

What adapter did you buy? I just ordered a new RCA wiring harness because for some reason, the stock fusion one had the female RCA ends cut off.

Has anybody with a 2019 or 2018 drilled their hole next to the throttles and put a speaker here specifically the MX650's. I'm nervous that its going to be too shallow and I really would rather put it lower than use a spacer right by the throttle. I am nervous that if I drill there it won't fit.

I would be careful there with wires/harness. As far as depth, you can always drill a very small pilot hole to measure the depth with a wire.
If you go just above, there are no issues and plenty of space:

I cut six (6) effing 5" holes for additional cockpit speakers and installed all DB651s, I have 10 now - sounds freaking unreal. I'm so happy.

Has anyone on this form install 6 x 9 speakers inside the cockpit area if so please post pictures and let me know. Thank you.

Decided to paint my tower speakers to match the green on the side of my AR240

Just ran a test fit and they look amazing on the towers, last picture is where I plan on putting them. I bought rubber inserts Incase I want to use the clamps on the smaller/front tube. I think that’ll be a more even look and less people/me will hit there head on it

Nice build, esp like the painted cans!!

How does it sound, do you run a EQ?

Im kinda late to the party but...

I did a similar build with MX650s, and then M770s.....the difference for me was really about how loud the MX650s could go, and it wasn't enough when I would crank them, esp up in the bow, but I can confirm they do indeed fit without any modification besides a spacer. I also had to cut my rear cushions to get the M770s to fit back there, but the M880 towers play more than loud enough for the rear passengers.

The diff between a MX650 @ 75 rms and a M770 @ 150-200 rms IS VERY NOTICEABLE....

So for anyone who wants more sound the extra money isnt a marginal increase its a SIGNIFICANT increase, but the MX650s play nicely as well...just in case you ever thought about upgrading....its not a mild diff, due in part to how efficient the speakers are, or that was what I was told by JL and Odin...

I’d let you know how it sounds if I could find the amp turn on wire. There’s no blue wire coming from the back of my swim deck head unit which is throwing me off. Everything’s wired to the amp I just need an amp turn in to tap into. Everybody says it’s on the back of the head unit with the speaker wire adapter but for some reason on the 2019 it’s not. Any help would be appreciated

Did you try the MX650 at 150w? The 770 is still going to be louder but curious if the difference is that significant given same power level.

No I haven’t tried that, but the system is super loud and the tower speakers give off some nice bass. I also added one of those 10 inch bazookas that I sent to the 5th channel on its own signal. I can’t wait to add the mid cabin speakers and see how it sounds. Only things on the amp as of now are the 2 tower speakers at their own channel, and the sub. I plan on wiring the mid cabins and the bow speakers parallel so they each will get 50 watts and that should complete it.

Did you find the remote wire? I am about to start this same build on my 2019 AR. The painted cans are sick.
