I just bought my boats and followed instructions to put up my top but the screw holes do not line up on the front windshield where you can put them in. The mount angles down whereas the pole hole angles straight across. I decided extend the front pole so the lower arm piece disconnected, get the screw in the. Line up the poles to get it up. Worked but when I took it down the star thumb screw were bent.

Anyone else have this type of trouble with their top? Wish I had gone with the limited now ?

It seems that the SX boats are the minority around here...

No, I don’t have that issue on my 2018, but the windshield brackets are loose that it allows for some movement.

My 2016 does the same thing. I screw the T bolds in with the rods attached, then stick them in the Bimini top.

Thanks I will have to take mine back by the dealer to see if mine is wrong for some reason. My windshield brackets do not move at all

Same problem when I first got my new boat. Solution is what Drift Away replied. Dealer said same thing. Easy remedy.

Thanks you would think after so many years they would update the manual. ?

The angle being different is normal, I freaked out a little my first time trying to out it up... Release the lower arm, install screw, pull down and lock, mine are solid

Edit: you have to pull down pretty hard the Bimini is super tight the first time, it gets easier

It did bend my screws that go in but they are cheap enough to replace after it breaks in i guess

I had the same issue on my 2015 SX240. I did two things, first I enlarged the hole slightly using a drill bit that was a little bigger than the existing hole, (use an old rag and vise grips to hold the bottom section while your drilling, just make sure rag is clear of drill bit)) then I used a hole chamfer bit and chamfered both sides of the hole. Now I can pull down the bimini and easily install the small handle stud through the hole and correctly align with the treads. No bent studs and no removing bottom rod of Bimini. So easy the wife can do it.
