I just ordered one, same boat basically as 2020. I'll update here after installing and water test - should be around mid-July.
Top speed so far is 39.6 mph and more consistently around 36 with full fuel and 2-4 aboard, sea level. It'll briefly rev to 7400-7500, yet settles to no more than 7300. Hoping this'll eke out another few hundred RPM and mph or two.
Has anyone looked at moving the Air-filter box into the area under the port side seat where the battery is?
Please excuse me, my SX190 is on its way, so I can not investigate the possibility of cutting a hole and extending the air box pipe into the port side seat area but the air must be cooler in there, outside of the engine bay.
I don't recommend that...your battery produces hydrogen gas when charging which is explosive. That's why there's an air vent just above the area to vent the battery compartment. And the air under the seat wouldn't be much cooler, and more importantly it doesn't have enough air flow to feed the airbox. Fresh air is constantly being pulled in under the swim platform seats into the engine bay with a dedicated 4" vent hole - when you get your boat, open the engine bay and look up to the top left or right and you'll see a round vent hole the same size as your blower motor exhaust hole.
Ok yes. However a (gel) AMG battery should solve any hydrogen risk.
I will measure the temperatures in the two compartments. Is there cavity channels from port side seat cavity to the bow areas or is that sealed. If there is a open cavity maybe its possible to draw dry clean air from up there?
