2021 FSH 252 Sport Thread

Taking the 252 FSH to Nassau and Exumas June 13th thru 18th from Ft Lauderdale. Going to be a real sea trial. I'll update on trip once we get back.

I think this is something many of us on here will be interested in. I made the crossing many many times back in the late 80s while in high school, but that boat belonged to my girlfriend’s dad and was much larger. Take notes and pictures but most of all have fun and safe travels!

Went and checked out that thread…. With the exception of a couple of informed posts, most are just ignorant trash talk. The one I found most comical was the guy equating this boat with a sea doo that cost $82K, and said you could get an offshore boat for $60K, I think he left off the 1 in front of the 60.
Big jet ski... :p

For new owners of 252/255's- does anyone have a cover for their boat yet? Are there custom made Yamaha covers specifically for this model? Thanks.

Just saw this review come in my email from BoatTest

Yamaha 255 FSH Sport E (2021-) | BoatTEST

Yea saw this a week or so ago… a little disappointing for boat test… Capt Steve usually does a bit more in depth, but it is still nice to see the review. Still looking forward to seeing the 252 FSH as well. But not surprising as I read one post here this morning that stated that production did not begin until May of this year. Capt Steve had the boat that was being towed around the country for reviews.

SO much misinformation and bad experiences wrapped up as fact.

You can't get a new bowrider for $20k right now. Hell you can barely get a used bowrider for $30k right now. Even in the 19ft range. Hell I bought my '98 Rinker in '07 for $10k, and that was 13 years ago. That dude still thinks 1998 was 2 years ago on his price sheet.

You can only have a rational conversation with a rational person….

Made a post over there to try and help the guy out… the negative posts remind of all the crap you hear from ignorant idiots. I mean really stupid comments, like one guy said “you can get an offshore boat for $60K”. Thankfully there are a few informed and experienced posters who either own or in one case, a son in law who uses his father in law’s 19’ FSH with great success and enjoyment.

Okay, I’ve done my good deed for the day, trying to inform the uniformed. LOL!

I'm not going to wast my time signing up on that forum but I can tell you I live in Indiana, and I had owned a 2016 FSH 190 Sport for over 5 years and have had it from Lake Michigan to the Ten Thousand Islands, Places like Marco Island, Cape Coral, Sanibel Island, Anna Marie Island, Destin, Ft Walton area and many lakes and rivers, I have taken it out on the Gulf Of Mexico many, many times, I had only on issue with sucking something up in the impeller, and that was on Kentucky Lake, it took about a half hour to remove but was not that big of a deal. 95% of the time I have family and the Yamaha Center Console is a great family boat. I now have a 255 FSH Sport E, I have only been able to take it out briefly on the Ohio River, the ride was awesome and once I broke it it, the speed was almost scary! I cant wait to take it to Florida. You cant even come close to getting a twin engine boat with this many fetchers for this type of $$$.

I hear ya!

Most of the time I eschew this type of posting. But I don’t take blatant lies, blatant misinformation or slanderous comments very well.

I truly appreciate your quoted post and do not doubt the veracity of anything you said! I have not taken my boat on as diverse waters as yours, the experience I’ve had so far in my boat has outstanding.

While I have the kid brother of your 255, these boats are quick to accelerate, stop and turn.

I’m sure I speak for the rest when I say we will be looking forward to your future posts with your 255!

Yeah the weather around her has been crap! I dont even have any pictures of the 255 on the water, I will have to get one of my drones out and make a couple of videos. This is the only photo I have and it was last Friday when I was bringing it home from Nashville.

The two responses so far to my post are more of the same bad posting.

I like all boats! My friend and I talk about all kinds of boats everyday. We kick around the pros and cons of each boat and how they could be used for what we want to do.
