2022 AR250 arriving in two weeks

I went with a box anchor and I plan on getting two of the mission fender. Can you share what cover you got? There are a zillion on amazon.

I have the exact same post guides, but without the light. I haven't yet ordered the thrust vectors but probably will.

I am beyond my 2 weeks of expected delivery, no updates from the dealer.

Here is the link to the cover I got... Looks like it's become more popular... I paid 258.11, it's now 311+. Purchased in December...

I just talked to my dealer and he was not very encouraging. All he could tell me was "it's supposed to be here at the latest Aug 15th." I sure hope it is not that long. I am still next on the list for a FSH 255 from the largest Yamaha dealer in southwest Texas. My dealer is never one to build false hopes.

new boat owner :)

What should I look for when I pick it up?
Recommended beginner accessories?

Dealership is suppose to give you a coast guard kit which will have base model life vests etc. for the boat which includes anchor etc.
I picked up mine three weeks ago here in Florida and came with everything in a box.
Take my advice and pay the coin and purchase the Yamaha cover for the boat. Also thrust vectors and lateral thrusters will help the performance of the boat. I purchased the Ext warranty through YES meaning Yamaha. 2590.00 for 4 additional years was a deal. I'm in the industry and that's a good deal to have. Last but no least get Sea Tow on your insurance.

Congrats! We just picked our AR250 up a couple weeks ago.

Make sure they go over how to line up and put in the clean out port plugs with you. Also make sure the edges of the anchor locker lid aren't in too bad of shape. The edges are unfinished and can be pretty rough.

As far as accessories, the obvious are an anchor (there's a lot of debate on which to get), the required safety items (throwable floatation device, etc), dock lines, fenders, etc. I've alway liked having an extending paddle with a hooked handle. Can be a huge help docking on a windy day or an easy way to retrieve overboard items like hats.

I purchased thrust vectors, but after taking the boat out I'm unsure that I'll actually install them. Using the two engines opposing turns the boat nicely and loading on to the trailer was easy. Maybe I'll change my mind after taking it out a few times.

I also purchased a piece of Seadek from JetBoatPilot for the walk thru between the rear seats. I've heard a couple people say the fiberglass there can get slippery when wet.

The lateral thrusters i ordered from Jet Pilot to see how they work. The dual motors are nice when docking but anything additional helps plus makes you look like a pro when parking in a tight spot

I was goingt to try a trip or two before ordering the thrust vectors, but I may go ahead and order

This is my 4th Yamaha boat I installed thrust vectors on all of them. They make a big difference in handling in low speed.

Thanks, my plans of getting the boat in april and testing a few times isn't happening. I'll be luck to get the boat with some of the boating season left. Even my truck (tow vehicle) got delayed.

I just took delivery of my AR250 last week, this post was very helpful! I did the lateral thrusters already and ordered the Thrust Vectors but haven't put them on yet (I ordered before the price increase). I'm wanting to add a Fish Finder and I'm looking for some good ways to store fishing rods on the boat still.

I've also got an issue where my stbd motor only tops out below 5k rpm, but the Starboard gets to 6k (I'm at high altitude so I expected the RPM's to be a little low, but I think something's wrong to have such a variation).

In the interest of contributing to the post, I picked up a telescoping pole that came in really handy when docking in a windstorm, here's the one I got:

I'm glad yours arrived, my two weeks estimate is still 2 weeks away - late June or early july now.

Do you happen to know the vertical dimension if the wave rack is folded?

I remember the spec is posted somewhere on Yamaha website, but was just barely able to fit through my 10' shop door with the tower down.

I picked it up yesterday! I can't wait to get out in it.

I need to replace the trailer jack, looks really unsteady

greg Congratulations you are going to love the new boat. Hope you have a great summer with it.
Are you talking about the new trailer that came with the boat

We took it out yesterday and it was great - so much fun!

I'm really confused by the ladder and anchor combination. How do I use the anchor with the ladder in the way?

Should I get a charger, like the noco chargers?

I took the ladder out

page 101 of the manual shows a backrest 1 and center seat 2 in the stern seating area. I don't see this on my boat.

Ok good you got the ladder out , not sure what you are talking about on the back seating . you may
have extra seating cushions for that area that came with the boat.. Good luck
Enjoy have a great 4th..

You should have received two filler cushions to make a sun pad in the bow. Those two also make the seat.

I didn't think of that

I installed the thrust vectors today. I'm looking forward to testing them out. I did 4 boat trips without them.

greg you should notice a big difference at low speed steering good luck
