242 Limited E series Engine hours 40 hours difference?

Does the dealer have to remove the screen and send it off or just hook up diag tool and install update? My 18 242 lse has this issue as well. Curious is the port or starboard hours higher? Following the logic you would think port would have higher hours (left remote control level is used when in sync mode) however my starboard engine hrs is about 12 hours higher than port engine as displayed on connext

The dealer removed mine. I believe they applied the update iirc, but they had to send it to yamaha to reset the hours to match the correct values on the engines.

damn crazy. No dealer really close to me about 3 hours. I’ll have to figure something out to get this done. Which hours was higher on yours? Port or starboard?

Connext display had Port at 3 hrs higher vs what the direct engine/ecu readouts had at only .1 hrs difference.

Yeah. Not sure I want to be boatless while they send the screen back.

That's for sure! My dealer is an hour away and I wouldn't want to take my boat back to them until the fall short of some major issue requiring immediate attention.. I had them do the connext flash and hour reset at the end of the MI season last fall. I store the boat inside at their facility each winter so they had plenty of time. I think it was a two week turnaround at the time, but who knows these days.

does anyone know how to pull up the diag window that shows the firmware/software version connext system is on? trying to check if mine is on v39 or not

I got notified on this thread and the other hours desync one, so here's a link to my comment there regarding holding the SYS CONTROL button.
