Until May 31st, in Canada, Yamaha is offer 4 years of YPP or $1538 USD cash for the 2017 boats.

There are many exclusions with YPP. Is it better to take the cash or YPP?

"Yamaha Protection Plus" coverage is similar to the coverage outlined in the factory warranty policy explained in the Owner's Manual. You can extend this warranty by 12, 24, 36 or 48 months, depending on your needs.

YAMAHA PROTECTION PLUS excludes failures resulting from:

• Commercial or Rental Usage
• Racing or competition
• Modification of original parts
• Installation or use of non-authorized parts or accessories
• Use of lubricants, oils and fuel-oil mixtures other than those recommended in the Owner's Manual
• Accidents or collision or impact or theft damage
• Submersion
• Fire
• Normal wear and tear or lack of maintenance
• Abuse or neglect
• Improper storage
• Corrosion
• Growth of marine organisms on jet pump/motor or on hull surfaces
• Gel coat/paint finish, blisters, cracks or crazing

YAMAHA PROTECTION PLUS excludes the following parts:

• Sacrificial anodes
• Batteries
• Light bulbs, fuses
• High-tension cables, spark plugs
• Light bulbs, filters and fuses
• Oil, lubes, filters
• Hull and related components
• Upholstery
• Cables and reverse gate
• Hydro turf mats, Bimini top
• Trailer
• Stereo components (such as stereo, depth sounder, horn, compass if applicable)
• Cleats, snaps, domes, clips and securing devises

YAMAHA PROTECTION PLUS excludes appearance related damages:

• Scratches, dents, fading, flaking, peeling, tears, rips, punctures

It excludes WAY too much to be useful in my opinion. . . . . I'd take the cash personally, and that is coming from someone who received a 3yr warranty and bough the additional 2yrs for $300 for a total of 5. But in the US there weren't so many items Excluded under the YES warranty.
