Did you have enough fuel to reach nassau, how many gallons is your tank

You will need to hit close to 200 miles in the ocean on Sunday to reach Treasure Cay (I assume you are staying here). This is on top of the drive from NY to Florida, reaching WPB on Sunday morning. I hope you have alternative plans to either stay in spanish Cay or the west end on Sunday evening in case you get delayed.

@Berrie when you went to Abacos how much time did it take for you to reach Spanish Cay?

@Amar Nanduri, Apologize for the late reply, I have been so busy I hardly have had time to get online.
We left WPB around 6am, made it to West End just before 9 (in spite of some serious weather the last 10 miles). Cleared customs and immigration, refueled, and due to the bad weather, I needed another hour before I was ready (emotionally; first crossing, no buddy boats) to move on. We left West End around 11:30, and made it to Spanish just before 5. However, it rained most of the way which really limited our visibility, so we only went 25mph max, I just couldn't see where I was going. Without the rain we could have made it to Treasure Cay by 6, or even earlier if we had left West End earlier.

Good to hear from you @Berrie
Being busy with work is good :) Your crossing sounds quite challenging especially without buddy boats. My crossing is in less than a month. Fingers crossed the weather holds.

@Amar Nanduri Are you taking the Chap?
Our crossing really wasn't bad, except those 10 miles before West End. There was a storm cell hanging over West End, it whipped up the Atlantic to a 3' washing machine with whitecaps everywhere.

This is the cell, still hanging over West End after we got on our way to Spanish. We had to go through it to make it to West End, and then to leave West End. Fun fun!

Hi @Berrie we will be going in my friends Formula 350ss. It is a decent 35 footer. Did a Bimini run last month in that boat in “not ideal” weather and it ran like a charm.

Hello guys ?
This Ábaco trip was awesome to say the least
It took us about 12 hours to get to our final destination (treasure cay) because we made a day out of it and stop more than we should have but it was worth it!!!! We had so much fun visiting all the cool places that Abaco has to offer. On the way back we stopped at a little town called Crown Haven by recommendation from a nice lady that we met at the fuel station in coopers town. They had fresh conch salad, they had fresh lobster and fish and very friendly people. There we hired a old local guy and he took us the fast way to port lucaya were we started for the night. The next morning we went to West End refueled and head home to West Palm Beach. 19C59999-67EE-48C0-BB9A-2E2BE4DC6B1B.jpeg10CACB0B-585F-417C-A60F-8F3AE3FC5EB3.jpeg461B4134-FCBC-400B-84A5-1082AED67975.jpegF858945F-C4E4-4870-BA28-A53E01562EF7.jpeg0E0BFC0C-5BBA-4184-8356-02480BB56D6F.jpegC89FA94B-9513-440E-93DB-0F655EC056B5.jpeg19C59999-67EE-48C0-BB9A-2E2BE4DC6B1B.jpeg10CACB0B-585F-417C-A60F-8F3AE3FC5EB3.jpeg461B4134-FCBC-400B-84A5-1082AED67975.jpegF858945F-C4E4-4870-BA28-A53E01562EF7.jpeg0E0BFC0C-5BBA-4184-8356-02480BB56D6F.jpegC89FA94B-9513-440E-93DB-0F655EC056B5.jpeg58637CA9-DA51-4D83-93F3-B0B11141C4F5.jpeg427E19A4-01E4-42AC-9B2D-66521734ADF4.jpeg4D142CD8-D3E3-4BE4-8F70-0671F8D7BFDA.jpeg31A114E7-9B92-47E6-A376-2643D9966AC5.jpeg19C59999-67EE-48C0-BB9A-2E2BE4DC6B1B.jpeg10CACB0B-585F-417C-A60F-8F3AE3FC5EB3.jpeg461B4134-FCBC-400B-84A5-1082AED67975.jpegF858945F-C4E4-4870-BA28-A53E01562EF7.jpeg0E0BFC0C-5BBA-4184-8356-02480BB56D6F.jpegC89FA94B-9513-440E-93DB-0F655EC056B5.jpeg58637CA9-DA51-4D83-93F3-B0B11141C4F5.jpeg427E19A4-01E4-42AC-9B2D-66521734ADF4.jpeg4D142CD8-D3E3-4BE4-8F70-0671F8D7BFDA.jpeg31A114E7-9B92-47E6-A376-2643D9966AC5.jpegAE5F55FA-796B-4C16-A9AB-AB19C874B29D.jpeg6AF55D6C-FE69-4202-B4C4-24C7C4410BAB.jpeg3267BCF7-BD53-4D74-87FF-CF513B27B568.jpeg570E085D-DC95-4F53-A6E6-D03648E226A6.jpeg748F5078-2BAE-4919-960F-D5BB885A8D76.jpegB3E7B814-367A-4E57-BF28-743032CC123B.jpeg81019415-DF90-49EB-8EE0-F1AEF1401FA5.jpeg1BC560FB-01BA-4AA4-8F3A-BDB738C8BD57.jpeg16A49281-642C-44B0-8ED1-94DF59EDDD03.jpeg

@Gadiel Great pictures! I can't wait to get back there - not this year unfortunately.
Glad you had a great time!

This was how we felt about the trip over to Bimini. The water was so beautiful. It felt like everybody was in such a hurry to get to Bimini, but we just wanted to take our time and enjoy the ride and the awesome water. We still made Bimini with 40% of our fuel left even with slowing and stopping when we felt like it.

@Amar Nanduri you are about to head out, right?
Hope you have a great time, a safe crossing, and please take lots of pictures and videos, I'm suffering from withdrawal!
Hi @Berrie Thank you for your wishes. I know what you mean by withdrawal symptoms. I am stuck on land last 2 weeks babysitting family on their dream vacation and can’t wait to get out into the ocean. We are still on schedule to head out on July6-7. We fly into Miami on 5th, take the boat to West Palm beach the same day and plan for a crossing on the 6 or 7. I will definitely take plenty of pictures and videos and send you the YouTube links.

One boat dropped off for personal reasons. @jayasaki138 will be joining us in our boat. Still waiting to hear from @DIRTYOAR if he is still on track to join us for Abacos crossing. Worse case scenario it will just be our boat doing the crossing. It is going to be interesting ?
I need to start tracking the weather from next week.

Good luck on your crossing to Abaco
If it was up to me I would cross again with you guys next week!!!

@Dean P do you have phone number contact details for @DIRTYOAR ? I need to know if he is making the trip to Abacos. I did not hear anything from him so far. If he changed his plans I can go ahead and plan for just my boat to Abacos and maybe start from Miami itself to Bimini to Berrie Islands to Treasure Cay instead of going to WPB. I am still open to going on any route. Thanks

Sorry but no, he is not going.

Please be safe and post lots of pictures!!! I need to share with those that backed out on me. Show them what they're missing. ??

Will do. Thanks for the info.

Did anyone go to Bimini last week or this week ? I was wondering how the fuel and power situation is. I am leaning more in doing a Miami-Bimini-Berrie Islands- Abacos route than through WPB-west end-Abacos route. Thanks.

Reached Miami. Weather looks great today. We might start for west end today itself.
Plan is Miami - Ft Lauderdale - West End ....

Good luck and don't take any helicopter rides. 7 people were killed recently in Abocos (Grande Cay).

Thank you Dean. Will be starting early tomorrow morning as it took time today to get the boat ready. I will send the tracking link before I start.
